Steak and Ale Pie

Steak and Ale Pie

We don't just provide good joints of British beef we also want to hear about what you do with your joint.
Do you roast it for a big slap up meal with the family or do you do something a little different?

Have a quick look at what Cameron's winter warmer of steak and ale pie.
Steak and ale pie (original).
  1. Dice the beef into chunky bits. For 10kg diced beef add 24 beers (mcewans export preferably) but any dark beer will suffice.
  2. Add mixed herbs and cook on the hob for (+-) 2.5 hours or until beef separates easily in your fingers.
  3. Then add beef stock to create a rich gravy. I like to add a bit of red wine onion gravy to it.
  4. The shelf life for this is about three days.
  5. Put in a oven proof dish add puff pastry and egg wash.

We would like to thank Cameron for taking the time to give us this quick recipe!
